Shopping, Hunting & Food

Our weekend consisted of eating, shopping, hunting and more eating. Paw Paw, Nonnie, Malcolm, Uncle John and Aunt Deb came to visit this weekend. Everyone came on Thursday and Heath smoked ribs for dinner Thursday night. Friday morning we had breakfast at the Broken Egg and then Heath gave everyone a tour of Tulsa. Saturday, while all the men hunted, the women went shopping (in the rain). Nonnie brought candy apples so after shopping we came home and made those. YUM!!!

I think they are going to apply for a job at the fair next time it comes to town!

TIme For Pumpkin Carving!

This weekend we carved our pumpkins. This year Heath decided to let Austin and Kamden each have their own pumpkin. So on Saturday the boys and I picked out the pumpkins while we were at Wal-mart. After much searching, we finally found the 'perfect' patterns. Kamden picked a spider and Austin picked Frankenstein. Here are some (actually a lot) of pictures:

Eeeewwwww!!!

"How much more is left?!?"

Just goofing off! Kamden said "Did you REALLY eat that?"

You Can Take A Ride...

...On My Big Green Tractor!

The boys(mostly Kamden) love that song and Saturday night Heath and I took them to the Tulsa Corn Maize and this tractor was sitting by the ticket booth. So, of course, I couldn't pass up the the photo opportunity. Here are some more that could have been really cute if I could have gotten a few smiles and some cooperation!

Anyway, once we got in the boys had a good time. We went through the corn maize twice. The first time we stuck to the 'beaten' path and found our way out quickly but the second time we ventured out a little more and we walked in circles for a while. I found out that corn maizes aren't good for claustrophobic people! Heath talked Austin into going on the haunted one with him. Needless to say, he (Austin) slept in our bedroom Saturday night! The boys also rode the 'Cow Train' and had rubber ducky races. This was a really neat place and we can't wait to back next year.

Hmmmm...Which way do we go?

Pumpkin Town

Thursday morning Kamden and I met some of his classmates and their moms at Pumpkin Town. It is here in Tulsa and they had lots of things for the little ones to do. They had inflatable slides, pony rides (which I couldn't get him to do) and many other play areas for the kids. Kamden and his friends had so much fun running around.

Another Fun Weekend

Heath planned a hunting trip for last weekend so we had some of his family come for a visit. We had a great time and it was good to get to visit with everyone. They got here on Friday evening shortly after the boys got home from school. While the men were gone to buy their shells for the hunt, the boys played outside with Grammy and Emmalee.

Grammy got to entertain Kamden!

Austin talked Emmalee into playing football with him.

Emmalee and Will are such great cousins; they did everything the boys asked them to.

Here is Will throwing the football with Austin.

Saturday, the men went went on a guided pheasant and chucker hunt. I've never even heard of a chucker so I'm not sure I spelled it right but it is some kind of bird. They had a blast and they killed 27!

Ready for the hunt!

The Mighty Hunters with half their kill!

Here they are with all of them!

Saturday night we ate burgers at Red Robin and then went to Marble Slab for ice cream. YUM!

Heath insisted on taking our picture in front of Red Robin!

Think Pink

Last Saturday I ran the Susan G. Komen 5K with some friends from our neighborhood. We had a great time even though there were over 10,000 runners! it was a little crowded but it was fun. My time was 31:10. We are looking forward to our next race at the end of October.
