Meet Zeke

We added a member to our family yesterday. The boys have been begging for a puppy since we gave Bauzer away. So...we gave in! We got a miniature schnauzer. He is 12 weeks old. We are keeping him in the house but so far everything is going great. Austin named him Zeke because he said he had to have a name that started with a letter in Bauzer's name. (I don't know why but whatever!) I'll post more later-got to go take him to potty! :)

Ouch!!!

This is Austin's reaction to a hornet sting. He got stung on the cheek Sunday afternoon and I took this picture Monday morning. When he woke up Monday morning his eye was completely swole shut. I took him to the doctor and he acted like as long as it wasn't infected I shouldn't be worried and to keep giving him benedryl. This morning it looks better; at least he can open his eye.


And this is Kamden's reaction. Every time I give Austin medicine, Kamden tells me "I got fever, I got stung by a bee too!" So once he gets his attention & 'medicine' he is good to go!



Kamden is 3 now and he will quickly remind you. Yesterday I called him baby and he told me "you don't say baby you say bigger!" He had a great birthday, he got a Spiderman bike which he LOVES and lots of money. The first card he opened was from Kinley, his best friend from Tyler, and it had $3.00 in it. He was so excited he kept telling us "I got three hundred dollars!!!".

On his birthday we went to a Safari Wildlife Refuge/Rescue here in Broken Arrow. We really enjoyed it. They rescue exotic animals from people that decide they can no longer have them or afford them as a pet. They had tigers, lions, wolves, a zebra, peacocks, farm animals, monkeys and many other animals. We got to feed most of them even the tigers & lions!



This is a liger. It is half lion, half tiger; hence the name 'liger'. They were feeding him from about 7 feet. As you can see, he was HUGE.

This is a full grown alligator but because it was born in polluted waters in Florida it's growth was stunted.


This is one of Mike Tyson's tigers they rescued when he got into financial trouble and couldn't afford to keep them. It is an albino tiger.

Where do I begin?

Well, the move went really smooth. We couldn't have asked for anything to go any better. All the boxes were unpacked and put away within 4 days! Thanks to momma for keeping the kids. There is no way we could have got it all done with them here! Momma and Aunt Glenda brought the boys back Sunday before last. That very same evening we lost Austin in the neighborhood! Heath let him go around the block on his bike and he told him just how to do it. After about 30 minutes, when he didn't return, Heath left to go look for him. I didn't know all this at the time because they were outside. The next thing I knew the phone rang and it was Heath asking if Austin was home. Then he told me he was on his bike and he couldn't find him. Now keep in mind, it is dusk dark and Austin has no clue about this neighborhood nor does he know our phone number or address. To put it mildly: I panicked! So off I go around the block to look for him, by the time I made it to the back street I saw Heath following him home. Come to find out, he had met a friend who had lost a tire off his 4-wheeler and he stopped to help him. Needless to say, the next day he learned his new address and phone number! All this happened on Sunday, on Tuesday we were at the Dr with Kamden. He had croup and a really bad sore throat. The croup went away and by Saturday we were back at the pediatrician with both ears infected. He is feeling better finally so hopefully sometime this week we will get to try out the pool! On Friday night, we went to the Tulsa Drillers baseball game. Heath's boss has season box tickets so he gave us the tickets. After the game, they had a firework show. The boys loved it! I don't think they have ever seen so many fireworks in their life.

Everything is going through on selling our Tyler house and we are supposed to be closing on it June 26.

I posted some pictures below of the house. I didn't post the ones of the guest room, game room or the office because we still have to get some more furniture for them. I will post them soon.

What a day!

Today was a very emotional day for me. It was our last Sunday at our church. Goodbyes are ALWAYS hard. Our pastor had us stand at the front of the church for everyone to come by and tell us 'goodbye and give their well wishes'. As most of you already know, we have met some awesome people here in Tyler and I really hate to leave them behind. We are really going to miss them! Last night our Sunday School class gave us a goodbye dinner at a cajun restaurant here in Tyler. It was about 25 of us and we had a really great time visiting with everyone without having to chase all the children around!

On a happy note, we listed our house on the market here in Tyler on Tuesday. It showed twice and by Saturday night we had an offer. They accepted our counter-offer and we signed a contract today. It was only on the market 4 days and had not even been advertised in the paper yet. We, of course, give God ALL the glory! That really gave us a peace to know that we are doing what God wants us to and he is paving the way for us. Isn't He good?

Daddy, momma, maw-maw Sue and Chuck came by today on their way home from a weekend at Canton and we sent the boys home with them for 1 whole week! I still can't believe we let them go. I am lost already! The movers are coming tomorrow to pack everything so we figured it was best to have them out of the house so they could work. Hopefully I will have most everything unpacked at the new house before they come back (to their new home). We will be leaving Tyler on Wednesday for the last time until we come back to visit.

Another Busy Weekend

Last weekend was really busy for us. We left on Friday and went to Jena to take our dog, Bauzer. We decided it was best not to take him with us when we move since our new backyard is smaller than this one here in Tyler. It is really strange not having him here this week. Our plans are to get a new small dog to keep in the house. We actually tried this when we got Bauzer but that was a disaster. Now looking back I couldn't even imagine keeping him in the house as big as he was and as much as he slobbered.




Heath got me a pistol for Mother's day (did I mention it is pink!) Yes, I wanted one; we plan to get our concealed handgun licenses when we get to Tulsa. On Saturday we went to the firing range and shot while the boys stayed with their Grammy. On our way back home Saturday evening we stopped at the Alligator Park in Natchitoches. It was a really neat place and the kids loved it! They had raccoons, goats, emu, birds peacocks, turtles, iguanas, snakes, deer and of course tons of alligators. As Austin said, "they had everything but frogs!" Kamden's favorite thing was feeding the goats as you will see in the picture. I think Austin liked the feeding show the best.











We will be leaving on Thursday to go to Tulsa to close on our new house. Our movers will be here on June 1st to start packing everything up. We only have 21 more days!!!

Our New House

Well here it is!!! It is a new construction in a new subdivision. As you can see, it is much bigger than we really needed but to our advantage the builder really needed to sell some houses! It has 4 bedrooms with a gameroom, office and a hobby room (whatever that is). Needless to say, we will have plenty of room for visitors! :) The subdivision has a pool, splashpad, playground, ponds and a walking trail in it. Another great advantage is that the elementary & middle school isn't even a half mile down the street! I guess it is a done deal-we are supposed to close on it in mid May. I have mixed emotions about the whole thing because I really like living here in Tyler but it is exciting to get to move and see the world.



Easter weekend in Jena was a blast!! The kids had a ball with all the egg hunts.

We went fishing on Saturday and we caught 62 fish. We all really enjoyed that. Of course, it is still undecided about who caught the most fish but I'll give you a hint who it was:




the spiderman fishing pole may have had a little to do with it! :)








We came home on Monday exhausted after the busy weekend!!

Austin had a ball game on Wednesday and he made his 1st HOMERUN!!! I am not sure who was more excited me or him! I just hated that Heath missed it but Nonnie was here so she got to see it.

Baseball has officially started and at last nights game Kamden rolled down 3 concrete steps and skinned his nose pretty good! So much for Easter pictures! After crying for a while, he told me "a snowcone would make it better!" :) Isn't it amazing how smart they are? Anyway, baseball is going great; we are undefeated right now!!! Austin is doing good; he has been playing pitcher some and he loves it!
